Bubba wins The Masters
AUGUSTA, GA (TheSpread) – Bubba Watson picked up his first major championship on Sunday as he won the 2012 Masters on the second hole of a playoff.
Watson shot a 4-under 68 on Sunday to get to 10-under for the tournament and into a tie with Louis Oosthuizen, who was looking to win his second major after shooting a 69 on Sunday.
On the second playoff hole, both golfers hit poor drives, but it was Watson that hit an amazing hook shot around trees to give himself his first green jacket.
According to oddsmakers, Watson had 30/1 odds to win this week’s Masters, meaning a $100 wager on him to win will pay out an additional $3,000.
Phil Mickelson entered the day one shot off the lead but shot an even-par 72 to finish in a tie for third at 8-under par. Mickelson had a triple-bogey 6 on the par-3, 4th hole, to take him out of contention.
