Tigers gets another PGA win
DUBLIN, OH (TheSpread) – Despite recent struggles, Tiger Woods broke out on Sunday, as he shot a 5-under 67 to win the 2012 Memorial Golf Tournament.
Woods was near the top of the leaderboard all tournament, but managed to climb to the front thanks to a strong finish to his round on Sunday. He closed the round with three birdies in his final four holes, including one chip in to finish the tournament at -9 overall, two shots ahead of Andres Romero and Rory Sabbatini.
According to oddsmakers, Woods had 16/1 odds to win this tournament coming into the week. This means a $100 wager on Woods to win will pay out an additional $1,600.
Woods has now won two tournaments this year after going on a winless drought for a number of years. This propels Woods into a top contender for the U.S. Open in two weeks.
Spencer Levin came into Sunday’s final round in the lead, but shot a 3-over 75 in his round to finish at -5 overall and tied for fourth.
