Ben Curtis Gets Rare Win
SAN ANTONIO, TX (TheSpread) – Ben Curtis didn’t have a stellar round on Sunday, but he did enough to win the 2012 Valero Texas Open.
Curtis shot an even-par 72 on Sunday to finish the tournament at -9 overall, two shots ahead of both Matt Every and John Huh. The win was the first for Curtis since 2006.
According to oddsmakers, Curtis had odds of 125/1 to win this week, which means a $100 wager on him will pay out an additional $12,500.
Brendan Steele had a strong final round, shooting a 5-under 67 on Sunday to get to -5 for the tournament, which put him in a tie for fourth overall.
