Rose wins Cadillac Championship
MIAMI, FL (TheSpread) – There were plenty of different leaders at the WGC-Cadillac Championship this weekend, but ultimately, Justin Rose walked away with the title.
Rose shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday to stay ahead of Bubba Watson by one shot at 16-under par. Rose also avoided a surge from Rory McIlroy, who shot a 5-under 67 on Sunday to finish two shots back.
Rose entered this week’s tournament with 40/1 odds to win, meaning a $100 wager on Rose will pay out an additional $4,000.
Keegan Bradley, who also had 40/1 odds to win, was in the lead during the final round, but he collapsed late and shot a 3-over 75 on the day to finish in a tie for eighth at 11-under overall.
Tiger Woods was in the hunt this weekend, but he had to withdraw during his final round after injuring his Achilles’ tendon, an injury that has sidelined him in the past. With the Masters just a month away, it is unknown at this time if Woods will be able to play.
