Garcia gets the win
GREENSBORO, NC (TheSpread) – Sergio Garcia got his first PGA Tour victory since 2008 on Monday as he finished off a win in the Wyndham Championship.
After rain postponed the finish, Garcia came out strong on Monday to complete his final round, pulling away late to finish the tournament at –18 under par. Garcia shot a 4-under 66 in his final round.
Though he has won in Europe since 2008, this is Garcia’s first win on the PGA Tour since the 2008 Players Championship. According to oddsmakers, Garcia had 33/1 odds to win this week’s event, which mean a $100 wager on him to win will pay out an additional $3,300.
Coming in second on the tournament was Tim Clark, who finished -16 overall after his third-straight 67 in the final round. Bud Cauley placed third at -15.
