BMW Championship Predictions
Lake Forest, IL (ATS Consultants) – The BMW Championship is the third event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Who will win this weekend’s PGA event?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Tiger Woods opened as a 5.1 favorite to win the BMW Championship. Adam Scott and Henrik Stenson have the next-best odds at 12/1, respectively, while Phil Mickelson is 14/1 to win. Justin Rose and Steve Stricker, meanwhile, are 18/1, respectively.
Continuing with the odds, Rory McIlroy is 20/1 while Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar are 22/1, respectively. Jason Dufner is 25/1, Jason Day and Keegan Bradley are 28/1, respectively, and Dustin Johnson, Hunter Mahan, Jim Furyk, Lee Westwood, Luke Donald, Sergio Garcia and Webb Simpson are all 33/1, respectively.
2013 BMW Championship Predictions:
Dufner has been in contention for most of the year. Out of 20 events, he’s made the cut 17 times and finished in the top 10 four times, which includes a fourth place finish at the U.S. Open and a victory at the PGA Championship in Oak Hill. He’s also coming off a ninth place performance at the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston last week. He’s playing great right now and yet, he’s a great value playa t 25/1.
While Rose did miss the cut at this year’s The Open Championship in Muirfield, he won the U.S. Open and finished second at The Barclays. If he didn’t put himself out of contention at the Liberty National Golf Course he probably would have claimed victory there, too. In the four Majors this season, he made the cut three times and had the one victory. He represents value at 18/1.
Live Long Shot:
Reed has had an uneven performance this season, making the cut in 15 out of 25 events and placing in the top 10 five times. And while he finished 70th at the Deutsche Bank Championship last week, he’s only three weeks removed from winning the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in mid-August. He also had back-to-back top-10 finishes at the John Deere Classic (7th) and RBC Canadian Open (9th). He might be worth a look as a deep long shot.
