Bae wins Byron Nelson title
IRVING, TX (TheSpread) – Sang-Moon Bae got his first PGA Tour victory on Sunday, coming up the winner of the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Bae shot a 1-under 69 on Sunday to finish at -13 overall, but it wasn’t easy. Bae held a four-shot lead at one point in the final round, but saw that disintegrate with three holes to play. However, he was able to best Keegan Bradley by a shot on No. 16 and No. 17 to pull away for the victory.
Bradley led after every round thanks to a first-round 60, but he came up with a 2-over 72 on Sunday finish the tournament at -11 overall.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Sang-Moon Bae had 100/1 odds to win this event coming into the week, which means a wager of $100 on him to prevail will pay out an additional $10,000.
Charl Schwartzel looked as if he was going to challenge for the win as well, but he ended up in third at -10 overall after shooting a 2-under 68 on Sunday.
