John Deere Classic Predictions
SILVIS, IL (ATS Consultants) – The PGA Tourheads to Silvis, Illinois for the John Deere Classic.
This is the final tournament before the third major of the season-the British Open. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Steve Stricker is the favorite after winning this tournament three of the last four years. Unfortunately, Stricker has played just seven tournaments, although he’s made all seven cuts. This is not a star-studded field as a lot of the big names have decided to prepare for the 142 Open Championship.
Johnson has had nearly as much success as Stricker at this tournament. He is the defending champion and also has a runner-up and third-place finish in his last four starts. He’s a native Iowa with close ties to the Midwestern event and could use the support after a few mediocre performances.
He’s been through a number of injuries and finished 17th last week at Greenbrier after positing all four rounds in the 60’s. He also led the field in approach shot distance to the pin. He must be feeling better or he wouldn’t be here at a tune-up before the Open Championship.
Longshot:
He won the Greenbrier Classic last week so he’s worth taking as a rare longshot coming of a big win.
