Spieth wins in a playoff
SILVIS, IL (TheSpread) – Jordan Spieth became the first teenager to win a PGA Tour event since 1931, as he won the John Deere Classic in a playoff.
Speith was in a three-way playoff with Zach Johnson and David Hearn that went five holes before he was able to secure the win with a par, while the other two made bogey.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Spieth had 33/1 odds to win this event, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $3,300.
Spieth shot a 6-under 65 on Sunday to get to -19 overall for the tournament, which tied him with Hearn (69) and Johnson (68). Johnson was looking to defend his title from a year ago, but couldn’t do it.
