Shell Houston Open Free Picks
HUMBLE, TX (ATS Consultants) – The PGA Tour moves to the Redstone Golf Club in Houston for the Shell Houston Open.
This course was set up to mimic Augusta, where The Masters will be played in two weeks. The greens and rough are close enough to Augusta where this can at least be a tune-up. Tiger Woods is not here after winning last week, but former number one Rory McIlroy is here and the favorite ton win. Some of the big names are here this week including Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Steve Stricker.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Rory McIlroy is favored at 9/1 while Keegan Bradley has the next best odds at 12/1. Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker is 16/1, respectively.
Keegan Bradley 14-1
Bradley tied for fourth here at Redstone last year. This year, he’s been very good with six top 25s, including his T-3 finish at Bay Hill on Monday. That was his third straight top ten finish in March.
Steve Stricker 16-1
He’s fourth on the PGA Tour money list with just three starts this season. He was second three weeks ago at Doral. The part-time player picks and choose the courses he likes. He’ll love this one.
Longshots
Jordan Spieth 50-1
He has two top 10s in a row and is looking to lock up a tour card. He’s one of the PGA’s newest special temporary members as a 19-year old.
