Simpson wins in Vegas
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – Webb Simpson was one of the favorites to win the PGA Shriners Hospitals for Children Open this week, and he did just that on Sunday.
Simpson posted a 5-under 66 on Sunday to finish at -24 overall, six shots ahead of the field. He was steady all week, posting no worse than at 67 in any single round of the event.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Simpson had 16/1 odds to win this event, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $1,600.
Both Ryo Ishikawa and Jason Bohn finished in a tie for second this week at -18 overall. Ishikawa shot a 65 on Sunday, while Bohn posted a 66, which included a bogey on the final round to fall out of second place on his own.
