2013 Wells Fargo Free Picks
CHARLOTTE, NC (ATS Consultants) – The PGA Tour stops off this week at Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. for the Wells Fargo Championship.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the favorite is Rory McIlroy, who claimed his first PGA Tour title here in 2010. Last year, he lost in a playoff to Rickie Fowler at Quail Hollow. This is a big event that also includes names like Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson and Sergio Garcia.
Simpson won the U.S. Open last year and lives at Quail Hollow so he has the knowledge of his home course. He was the 54-hole leader last year before fading to finish fourth. He keeps the momentum going for his U.S. Open return.
He came close to winning last week in New Orleans, nearly following up with a win after the previous week’s victory in Houston. He lost in a playoff here last year. Points already has a win and a runner-up finish after a bad start.
Longshot:
Blixt was one of the top rookies in 2012. He had a win and five top 10s. Blixt finished T-9 here last year but has struggled overall this year making just five cuts in 11 starts.
