Presidents Cup Free Pick
DUBLIN, OH (TheSpread) – The 2013 Presidents Cup is set to get started on Thursday. Here is a look at our pick for this event.
The Presidents Cup is a four-day team event featuring a team from the United States and a team of International players that don’t come from Europe. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the United States is the favorite to win, as they have odds of -300 to prevail. The International team has a money line of +250 to win, while a tie has odds of +1400 to take place.
History is certainly on the side of the United States, as it is 7-1-1 in Presidents Cup history. This year’s event also takes place from Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, giving the United States the home-field edge. The International Team hasn’t won this event since 1998, but is fielding a stronger team than it has in the past.
PRESIDENTS CUP FREE PICK: The International Team has certainly improved over the last two years and features some of the best golfers in the world. However, when you look at the overall team, it is lacking in comparison to the United States. While someone like Adam Scott can compete with anyone, golfers like Richard Sterne and Marc Leishman aren’t quite as proven as the bottom of the U.S. roster. That is what I think will be the different and allow the United States to win the Presidents Cup once again. PRESIDENTC UP FREE PICK: United States -300
