Updated Presidents Cup Odds
DUBLIN, OH (TheSpread) – The 2013 Presidents Cup had its first day of play on Thursday. Here is an updated look at the odds to win this event.
The opening day saw six fourball matches take place. Six points were at stake, and the United States earned 3.5 points, while the International team scored 2.5. Despite having the lead, it was somewhat of a disappointing day for the Americans, as they led in all six matches early on, but had to fight to get the Day-1 lead.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the United States is even more of a favorite to win this event, as they now have odds of -500 to prevail, while the International team has a money line of +450. A tie has odds of +1600 to take place.
The U.S. team of Matt Kuchar & Tiger Woods earned a 5&4 win over Angel Cabrera and Marc Leishman while the U.S. team of Zach Johnson and Jason Dufner beat Branden Grace & Richard Sterne, 5&3. Jordan Spieth & Steve Stricker also got a win for the U.S., as they beat Ernie Els and Brendon de Jonge, 1-up.
Jason Day and Graham DeLaet beat Hunter Mahan & Brandt Snedeker, 1-up for the Internationals. Louis Oosthuizen & Charl Schwartzel beat Phil Mickelson & Keegan Bradley, 2&1 as well. The lone halved match was between Bill Haas & Webb Simpson against Adam Scott & Hideki Matsuyama.
The Presidents Cup continues on Friday with six foursomes matches. The event runs through Sunday from Muirfield Village Golf Course in Dublin, Ohio. For updated odds to win, see below.
