Mickelson wins Phoenix Open
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (TheSpread) – Phil Mickelson looked about as good as he ever has this week, as Lefty won the Waste Management Phoenix Open by four shots.
Mickelson started his tournament off by shooting an 11-under 60 on Thursday and followed it up with a 65 and 64 to run away from the field. He shot a modest 4-under 67 on Sunday, which allowed him to beat Brandt Snedeker by four shots. Mickelson finished -28 overall for the tournament.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Mickelson had 22/1 odds to win this tournament, which means that a $100 wager on him to win will pay out an additional $2,200.
Snedeker shot a 65 on Sunday to climb to second for the tournament at -24 overall, one shot ahead of Scott Piercy, who shot a 61 on Sunday to finish at -23 overall.
