WGC-Accenture Match Play Odds
MARANA, AZ (TheSpread) – The top 64 golfers are set to battle it out in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Here is a look at the odds to win this single-elimination tournament.
In this event, 64 men compete in 32 matches. Each winner advances to the next day before the final two remaining compete in a 36-hole match on Sunday. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Tiger Woods is the favorite to win this event, as he has 10/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (12/1), Charl Schwartzel (16/1), Ian Poulter (16/1) and Luke Donald (16/1).
Woods is the only three-time winner of this event. He last won the title in 2008. Woods is currently second in the world rankings and coming off a win in his last event. He has finished eighth or better in six of his last seven outings.
McIlroy has never won this event, but he was the runner-up last year. McIlroy is the top player in the world rankings. He has finished in the top 10 in eight of his last 11 events, including four victories.
Schwartzel has never won this tournament. He is 11th in the world rankings and has an impressive streak of seven-straight tournaments finishing in the top 5, including two victories.
Poulter was the 2010 winner of this event. Poulter is 13th in the world rankings. He has placed 12th or better in six of his last seven tournament, including one victory.
Donald was the 2011 winner of this tournament. He is third in the current world rankings. He has finished 18th or better in this last six tournament, including one victory.
