Updated British Open Odds
HOYLAKE, England (TheSpread) – The 2014 British Open is only halfway complete, but it looks like Rory McIlroy may run away with it.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, McIlroy is the heavy favorite to win this major, as he now has 2/3 odds. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (13/2), Sergio Garcia (16/1) and Rickie Fowler (18/1).
McIlroy posted his second consecutive 66, moving to 12 under for the tournament. McIlroy is now four shots ahead of the field.
Johnson is the lone player in second at -8 for the tournament after he shot a 7-under 65 on Friday. Johnson is two shots ahead of a group in third.
Garcia shot a 2-under 70 on Friday to get to -6 for the tournament. He is seeking his first major championship.
Fowler is -6 for the tournament as well after posting a 69 for the second straight day. Fowler is looking to win his first major.
Tiger Woods started the day three shots back at -3, but posted a 5-over 77 on Friday to fall to +2 for the tournament, which just made the cut. He now has 200/1 odds to win.
