Every wins as Scott collapses
ORLANDO, FL (TheSpread) – The Arnold Palmer Invitational looked to be Adam Scott’s to lose, and he did just that on Sunday.
Scott entered the day with a 3-shot lead, but struggled with his putting all round, which led to a four-over 76. That opened the door for Matt Every, who shot a 2-under 70 on the day to finish at -13 for the tournament, one shot ahead of Keegan Bradley. Scott ended up two shots back at -11 overall.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Every had 80/1 odds to win this tournament, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $8,000.
Bradley actually had a put to force a playoff, but came up just wide. He was three shots back with two holes left, but birdied the 17th and Every bogeyed the 18th.
Scott had setup his weekend by shooting a 62 on Thursday and 68 on Friday, but a 71 on Saturday left the door open for today’s collapse.
