McIlroy leads the PGA Championship
LOUISVILLE, KY (TheSpread) – Rory McIlroy is alone in the lead at the PGA Championship after two rounds and continues to improve his odds to win the event.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, McIlroy now has 1/1 odds to win the PGA Championship while Jason Day has 5/1 odds, Rickie Fowler has 7/1 odds and Jim Furyk has 9/1 odds.
McIlroy posted a 4-under 67 on Friday to get to -9 for the tournament. McIlroy is in the lead by one shot over Day and Furyk entering Saturday.
Day posted a 6-under 65 on Friday to get to -8 for the tournament. Day’s round ended with back-to-back birdies to get into the final pairing on Saturday. Day is seeking his first major championship.
Furyk shot a 3-under 68 on Friday to get to -8 for the tournament. The veteran also birdied the final two holes of his round.
Fowler finds himself tied for fourth at -7 overall after shooting a 66 on Friday. Fowler had an eventful day with eight birdies and three bogeys. Fowler has finished in the top 5 of all three of the other majors this year.
