Scott wins at Colonial in a playoff
FORT WORTH, TX (TheSpread) – Adam Scott put a stamp on his No. 1 ranking Sunday by winning the Crowne Plaza Invitational in a playoff over Jason Dufner.
Neither golfer looked to be in the mix to win entering Sunday, but both shot a 4-under 66 on the day to jump to -9 for the tournament, finished ahead of the third-round leaders. The two put on an impressive display for three holes in the playoff before Scott won with a birdie on the 18th hole.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Scott had 16/1 odds to win this weekend’s event, which means a $100 wager on him to prevail will pay out an additional $1,600.
Fredrik Jacobson and Nicholas Thompson finished tied for third at -8 overall. Jacobson shot a 67 on Sunday while Thompson posted a 66.
