Deutsche Bank Championship Picks
NORTON, MA (ATSConsultants) – The 2014 Deutsche Bank Championship tees off this morning. Here is a look at some golfers we like for this event.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Rory McIlroy is the clear favorite to win this event, as he has 4/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Adam Scott (10/1) and Brendon Todd (15/1).
Here are some golfers we like to contend for the title this weekend:
Fowler has been playing too well not to get a win soon. He currently has finishing in the top 10 in six straight golf tournaments, including three majors and five major championship-caliber fields. His play is similar to what Henrik Stenson did a year ago. Stenson broke through to get a win and the FedEx Cup title and we think Fowler can do the same this week.
Simpson won this event back in 2011. He is currently 32nd in the world rankings but has been hot and cold as of late. He has two top 5s in his last six events, but has also missed three cuts in that span. We think being at a course that he has played well at will help. He followed up his 2011 win by finishing 18th and we expect him to be right in this mix again this year.
Live Long Shot
Senden is a good long-shot to wager on. He is a pretty consistent player, making the majority of cuts, and he also has enough top 10s sprinkled in to compete in an event like this. He was 22nd last week in a similar field and he has three top 10s this year. If he continues to start well and make the cut, Senden is certainly a dark horse to win this tournament and get you a huge pay out.
