Crane wins St. Jude Classic by one
MEMPHIS, TN (TheSpread) – Ben Crane didn’t have the best Sunday at the course, but it was good enough to win the FedEx St. Jude Classic by one shot.
Crane posted a 3-over 73 on Sunday to finish the tournament at -10 overall, but that was enough to finish ahead of Troy Merritt, who shot a 71 on Sunday to finish at -9 overall. Crane was able to win thanks to a fast start, going 12 under after his first two rounds.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Crane had 150/1 odds to win this weekend’s event, which means a $100 wager on him to prevail will pay out an additional $15,000.
Webb Simpson, Matt Every and Carl Pettersson each finished tied for third in the tournament at -8 overall. Simpson posted a 4-under 66 to climb up the leaderboard. Ian Poulter shot a 64 on Sunday to jump to -7 overall and in a tie for sixth.
