Greenbrier Classic Picks
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (TheSpread) – The 2014 Greenbrier Classic begins play on Thursday. Here are a few picks to consider for this golf tournament.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Bubba Watson and Jimmy Walker are the co-favorites to win, as each has 12/1 odds while Webb Simpson has been given 20/1 odds. Here are some golfers to consider wagering on
Watson comes into this tournament as the highest-ranked golfer in the world rankings and he has had a strong 2014 thus far, winning a pair of tournaments, including one major. His six top 10s are also encouraging, as it shows he isn’t hit or miss. With Watson’s talents, he should be right in the mix to win in a field that isn’t all that strong.
Walker is in a new position, being a favorite. Typically Walker isn’t at the top of the list, but the lack of top-tier talent combined with his strong 2014 makes Walker a co-favorite this week. He, like Watson, has two wins in 2014 and six top 10s. Unlike Watson, he has a history of success at this course, finishing second last year. Look for Walker to make the charge this week and possibly finish what he started last year.
Leishman is on the rise in the world rankings and he has been one of the strongest golfers on tour over the last few months. He has finished in the top 25 in five of his last six events, with his worst finish being 37th. He has two top 10s in that run and is primed to get to the top of the leaderboard this week in a weaker field.
