Cabrera wins Greenbrier Classic
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (TheSpread) – Angel Cabrera had a stellar final round on Sunday, propelling him to a win in the Greenbrier Classic.
Cabrera carded his second straight 6-under 64 on Sunday to jump up to -16 for the tournament, which was two shots better than the field. George McNeill finished second at -14 overall after posting a 9-under 61 on Sunday.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Cabrera came into this tournament with 80/1 odds to win the event, which means a wager of $100 on him to prevail will pay out an additional $8,000.
Most of the scores on Sunday were low, except for Billy Hurly III, who started the day in the lead. The pressure of being in the lead seemed to get to him, as he shot a 3-over 73 and ended up at -9 for the tournament, in a tie for fourth. Webb Simpson was the lone golfer in third at -10 overall.
