Johnson wins first event of 2014
KAPALUA, HI (TheSpread) – Zach Johnson got 2014 off to a great start, winning the PGA Hyundai Tournament of Champions by one stroke.
Johnson put on an impressive final round, shooting a 7-under 66 on Monday to go -19 for the tournament and finish one shot ahead of Jordan Spieth for the title.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Johnson had 12/1 odds to win this race, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $1,200
Spieth shot a 4-under 69 on Monday to get to -18, which was one shot ahead of Kevin Streelman and Webb Simpson, who each finished tied for third. Dustin Johnson, who was tied for the lead entering the final round, shot an even-par 73 on Monday to finished at -14 and in a tie for sixth.
