Harman wins John Deere Classic
SILVIS, IL (TheSpread) – Brian Harman had the hot putter when he needed it on Sunday, giving him the win in the 2014 John Deere Classic.
Harman posted a 5-under 66 on Sunday to finish the tournament -22 overall. Harman made numbers big putts on the back 9 to secure his victory. Harman finished one shot ahead of Zach Johnson for the win. Johnson shot a 64 on Sunday to finish at -21.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Harman came into this tournament with 90/1 odds to win the event, which means a wager of $100 on him to prevail will pay out an additional $9,000.
There were a number of strong final rounds, including a 65 from Jhonattan Vegas, who finished at -19 overall. Vegas was tied for third with Jerry Kelly, who shot a 66 on Sunday. Steve Stricker was in the mix entering Sunday, but shot a 72 on Sunday to finish seven shots out of the lead.
