Quicken Loans National Picks
BETHESDA, MD (TheSpread) – The 2014 Quicken Loans National begins play on Thursday. Here are a few picks to consider for this golf tournament.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Tiger Woods, Jason Day, Justin Rose and Jordan Spieth are the co-favorites to win this event, as each has 14/1 odds to win.
Here are a few golfers to consider:
Rose is a former winner of this event, earning the title in 2010. Rose has been one of the stronger golfers in the world in the last year and he is now 10th in the world rankings. He comes into this tournament having placed in the top 15 in five of his last seven events, which means he will be in contention come Sunday. From there, he just needs to post a solid round on Sunday to complete the win.
Choi is another former winner here, claiming the inaugural title in 2007. Choi also enters this tournament on a bit of a strong swing. He finished second last week in the Travelers Championship and has finished in the top 5 in two of his last three events and 13th or better in three of his last four. Look for Choi to be right in the mix this weekend as well.
Live Long Shot
Bae is a risky play, which is obvious given his 125/1 odds, but when he makes cuts, he usually contends. He has placed in the top 25 in five events this year and he has made the cut in five of his last seven tournaments. Bae could have a poor weekend, but he could also be that golfer that breaks through. He has competed in this event before and is familiar with the course, he just needs a strong opening two rounds to propel him into the weekend. He is a former PGA Tour winner, so the pressure of contending on the weekend won’t rattle him.
