Rose wins in a playoff
BETHESDA, MD (TheSpread) – On a day when many leaders fell back, Justin Rose climbed up and found a way to win the Quicken Loans National in a playoff.
Rose shot a 1-under 70 on Sunday, including a bogey on the final hole, to finish at -4 for the tournament. That tied him with Shawn Stefani, who also shot a 70 on Sunday. In the playoff, Stefani found water while Rose stayed clean, giving him the victory.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Rose was one of the co-favorites to win, as he had 14/1 odds to come out on top. This means a wager of $100 on Rose will pay out an additional $1,400.
Patrick Reed started the day in the lead, but shot a 6-over 77 to fall to even par for the tournament. Marc Leishman was also near the front, but he shot a 3-over 74. Fredrik Jacobson followed suit, shooting a 4-over 74 on Sunday to fall out of the mix.
