RBC Canadian Open Picks
MONTREAL, Quebec (TheSpread) – The 2014 RBC Canadian Open tees off on Thursday morning. Here is a look at some golfers to consider for this weekend.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Dustin Johnson, Jim Furyk and Matt Kuchar are favored to win this event, as each has 12/1 odds.
Here are some golfers to consider wagering on:
Furyk has been having a strong year, placing in the top 10 six times this year, including strong showings in the major championships. Furyk knows how to win this event, as he is a two-time champion. Look for his upswing in play to continue this week and him to be right in the mix to win on Sunday.
Schwartzel is coming off a top 10 in the British Open last week and he has finished in the top 20 in six of his last 10 events. He has been on the cusp of winning over the last few months and this week could be the one where he breaks through. He played in this event last year and contended, so it is a sign that good things are to come from him this weekend.
Kelly has been slowly building toward a win this year. He has four top 10s this year and has only missed four cuts in 13 tournaments. He is coming off a third-place finish at the John Deere Classic and he has made four straight cuts. He is proving he can contend and is playing consistently enough to make it to the weekend. Sure, he needs a little luck on his side, but when looking for a long shot, you need someone that can get you into the weekend and has experience playing near the top of the leaderboard.
