The Memorial Tournament Picks
DUBLIN, OH (ATS CONSULTANTS) – The 2014 Memorial Tournament tees off on Thursday. Here are a few picks to consider for this golf tournament.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Rory McIlroy is the favorite in this tournament, as he has 8/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Adam Scott (10/1), Matt Kuchar (14/1) and Justin Rose (16/1).
Here are some golfers to consider:
McIlroy is coming off a win last weekend on the European Tour that could spark a hot streak for him. McIlroy has consistently been contending for some time now, hitting the top 10 in five straight events and in eight of his 10 tournaments this year. McIlroy has been too hot to ignore right now. Smart money is on him.
Kuchar is the defending champion of The Memorial and he currently sits fourth in the world rankings. While he is coming off a rough outing last week, where he missed the cut, he had been strong prior to that. Kuchar had placed in the top 10 in five of his last six events prior to last week and his consistency places him in the mix to win week-to-week. Look for Kuchar to bounce back strong this week.
Live Long Shot
With long odds, its understandable that you are taking a gamble on Mackenzie, but the golfer has the capability of winning this week. He had a strong start to the year, earning four top 10s, including a runner-up finish in the Valero Texas Open. Each good run typically follows with a dip in play, which is what Mackenzie has been on. He has missed his last four cuts. However, he is due for a bounce back. This will be the week that happens and he gets back to contending for a PGA victory.
