Streelman rallies to win Travelers
CROMWELL, CT (TheSpread) – Kevin Streelman used a fantastic weekend to climb up the leaderboard and sneak out with a 1-shot win in the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
Streelman entered the weekend at just -3, but posted a 6-under 64 on Saturday and did the same on Sunday to finish at -15 for the event, one shot better than the field. K.J. Choi, and Sergio Garcia each finished one shot behind Streelman at -14.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Streelman had 130/1 odds to win this weekend’s event, which means a $100 wager on him to prevail will pay out an additional $13,000.
Of the group in second, neither played poorly, but both posted just a 67. Aaron Baddeley shot a 1-under 69 on the day to finish at -13 for the tournament and two shots behind the winner. Brendan Steele shot a 66 on Sunday to climb to -12 for the tournament, which put him in fifth place.
Ryan Moore started the day in the lead at -13 overall, but shot a 1-over 71 on Sunday to fall to -12 and in a tie for fifth place with Steele.
