Valspar Championship Picks
PALM HARBOR, FL (ATS CONSULTANTS) – The PGA Valspar Championship gets started Thursday morning. Here are a few golfers to consider for this event.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Jason Dufner, Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar are all favored to win the event, as each comes in with 16/1 odds.
Here are our predictions for this weekend’s tournament.
Kuchar currently sits 11th in the world rankings and he has been in the hunt in this tournament the last two years, finishing 14th in 2013 and 10th in 2012. He has also been in the hunt in recent tournaments, finishing in the top 10 in three of his last five, with one of the other two being a 13th-place finish.
Spieth has been on a nice run as of late as he has a pair of top 5s to his credit in the short 2014 season. He is currently sitting 13th in the world rankings after making a big climb up the rankings throughout 2013. Spieth finished 21st in this tournament last year and 10th in 2012, but he is a much better golfer now than he was even a year ago. Look for him to be in the mix this weekend.
Live Long Shot
Bae comes in 124th in the world rankings, and is in need a little luck to hit it this weekend, but he is still capable. He made the cut in this event last year and has made the cut in five of his seven events in 2014. After a nice stretch of play in Asia to end 2013, which included a win, he has hit the top 30 in three of his six events in the States this year. He is coming off a 12th-place finish at the Northern Trust Open and could be building toward a win this week.
