Holmes wins Wells Fargo title
CHARLOTTE, NC (TheSpread) – J.B. Holmes overcame a late letdown to hold on and win the Wells Fargo Championship on Sunday.
Holmes had a clear lead entering the final holes, but bogeyed two of his final three holes to finish at -14 for the tournament, one shot ahead of Jim Furyk.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Holmes had 50/1 odds to win this weekend’s event, which means a $100 wager on him to prevail will pay out an additional $5,000.
Furyk posted an impressive round on Sunday, shooting a 7-under 65 to jump to -13 for the tournament. Martin Flores finished in third place by himself at -12 after shooting an even-par 70 on Sunday.
