Zurich Classic Free Picks
AVONDALE, LA (ATS CONSULTANTS) – The Zurich Classic of New Orleans tees off on Thursday. Here are a few picks to consider for this golf tournament.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Justin Rose is the favorite to win the tournament, as he has 12/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Keegan Bradley (18/1) and Rickie Fowler (20/1).
Here are our predictions for this weekend’s tournament.
Fowler has been a little hit or miss in 2014, but we think he hits this weekend. He is coming off a top-5 finish at The Masters a few weeks ago and has finished sixth or better three times this year. He finished 10th in this tournament in 2012, so he has familiarity with success in this event. When Fowler makes the cut, he ends up near the front. We definitely think he makes the cut this weekend and could win.
Palmer has yet to miss a cut this year and has four top 10s. 2014 is shaping up to be a good year for Palmer and he is inching closer and closer to getting a win. He has already placed second twice on the year and he has done well in this event, finishing fourth in 2012.
Watney is due for a breakout performance this week. He is coming off a 44th-place finish at The Masters and is still seeking his first top 20 of the year, but that won’t last much longer. Watney finished in the top 20 of this event last year and has had improved performances over the last month of play. He had his best showing of the year prior to The Masters and should be able to be in the hunt in this event, which is lacking a lot of star power.
