Europe dominates the U.S.
PERTSHIRE, SCOTLAND (TheSpread) – It was another impressive performance by the Europeans in the Ryder Cup, as they retained the title on their home turf.
Europe wasn’t really challenged over the final two days, defeating the Americans by a final score of 16.5-11.5 after brining in a 10-6 lead into Sunday’s final day.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Europe was the favorite to win this event, as it has odds of -180 to prevail, which means a wager of $180 on Europe to win will pay out an additional $100.
The real difference in the week came in the alternate shot format. The Europeans scored seven out of a possible eight points in that format, dominating the Americans, who couldn’t gel together. The U.S. made a minor surge to start on Sunday, but ultimately stumbled down the stretch, which has been a recent trend in the Ryder Cup.
