Updated Masters Odds
AUGUSTA, GA (TheSpread) – The first major championship of the year takes place this week, as golfer contend for the green jack at The Masters. Here is a look at the odds to win this tournament.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott are the favorites to win, as each has 9/1 odds. The other short odds to win are Phil Mickelson (12/1) and Jason Day (14/1).
McIlroy is ninth in the world rankings. He has never won or placed in the top 10 in this event. He finished 15th in 2011, which was his best finish. He held a big lead entering the final day, but fell apart on Sunday. He has two major championships to his credit.
Scott is second in the world rankings and the defending Masters champion. Scott has placed in the top 10 of this event three straight years and finished in the top 5 in three of the four majors a year ago.
Mickelson is fifth in the world rankings and he is a three-time Masters winner. He has placed in the top 10 in 14 different Masters, including 12 of the last 15. He is a five-time major champion.
Day is fourth in the world rankings. He is coming off a win in his last event, but hasn’t played in a few months. He has never won a major championship, but finished third in last year’s Masters and second in 2011. He finished in the top 10 in three of the last four major championships.
