Masters Top American Odds
AUGUSTA, GA (TheSpread) – If you can be the top American at the 2014 Masters, you are probably in contention to win a green jacket. Here is a look at the odds to be the top U.S. finisher this week.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Phil Mickelson is the favorite to be the top American, as he has 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Matt Kuchar (7/1), Dustin Johnson (8/1) and Bubba Watson (9/1).
Mickelson is fifth in the world rankings. He is a three-time Masters winner. He has placed in the top 10 in 14 different Masters, including 12 of the last 15. He is a five-time major champion.
Kuchar is seventh in the world rankings. He is seeking his first Masters or major championship this week. He has placed in the top 10 in the last two Masters and in three of his last eight major championship events.
Dustin Johnson is 11th in the latest world rankings. Johnson has never won the Masters or a major championship. He has yet to crack the top 10 at Augusta, but finished 13th last year.
Bubba Watson is 12th in the world rankings. He was the 2012 Masters champion, his lone major championship. Surprisingly, it was the only time Watson has been inside the top 20 at Augusta.
The Masters takes place April 10-13 from Augusta National. For a look at the odds to be the top American finisher in this golf tournament, see below.
