PINEHURST, NC (TheSpread) – The first round of the 2014 U.S. Open has concluded and one man has greatly increased his odds of winning.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Martin Kaymer is favored to win, as he has odds of 4/1 to prevail. The other short odds to win are Henrik Stenson (13/1) and Jordan Spieth (14/1).

Kaymer posted a first-round 65, putting him at -5 for the tournament. Kaymer has a three shot lead on the field entering the second round. He is seeking his second major championship.

Stenson shot a 1-under 69 on Thursday. He is one of 10 golfers that sits at -1 for the tournament and tied for sixth place. He is seeking his first major championship.

Spieth also shot a 1-under 69 on Thursday to get into a tie for sixth place. Spieth is coming off a second-place finish at the Masters in April. He is looking to win his first major championship.
