WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Picks
AKRON, Ohio (ATSConsultants) – The 2014 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational tees off on Thursday morning. Here is a look at some golfers to consider for this weekend.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Rory McIlroy is the favorite to win this event, as he has 6/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Adam Scott and Tiger Woods, who each have 12/1 odds.
Here are some golfers to consider wagering on:
Spieth is playing in this event for the first time. He is seeking his first win of the year, but has a nice run going as of late. He has placed in the top 20 in his last five tournaments on U.S. soil. He has also played well in the stacked tournaments, placing second in the Masters and 17th in the U.S. Open. The strong field won’t bother Spieth and his play is strong enough to get him in the mix to win.
Bradley won this event in 2012 and finished second last year. Bradley hasn’t made a big splash in a while, but he has shown some glimpses of returning to form this year. He has four top 10s, including a fourth-place finish in his last PGA event. Bradley’s biggest strength this week will be his sustained success at this course. He has to be one to consider for a victory this weekend.
Reed is playing in this event for the first time, but he is coming off a win in the last WGC event, the Cadillac Championship. Reed hasn’t been in a great stretch as of late, missing the cut in six of his last 10, but he has shown signs of life over the last month, finishing 11th at the Quicken Loans National and 26th in the Greenbrier Classic. With long odds, there isn’t a lot of risk with Reed, but he could provide a big reward if he shows up like he did in the Cadillac Championship.
