British Open Free Picks
FIFE, Scotland (ATSConsultants) – The 2015 British Open tees off in the early hours of Thursday morning. We have some golfers we think are worth betting on this weekend.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth is the clear favorite, as he has 9/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (10/1), Rickie Fowler (14/1) and Justin Rose (18/1). The British Open is held Thursday-Sunday from St. Andrews.
Rickie Fowler is one we like with his 14/1 odds. First, he is coming off a win in the Scottish Open last week, which is a good sign for play at St. Andrews. Second, he has done very well in majors over the last few years, including a runner-up finish in last year’s British Open. We like Fowler to emerge with his first major championship this weekend.
Adam Scott comes into this tournament with 20/1 odds to win. 2015 hasn’t been a great year thus far for Scott, but he is coming off a fourth-place finish at the U.S. Open, which was his best showing of the year. He seems to raise his play at majors and this is an event he has done very well at. Scot has finished in the top 5 of this tournament the last three years.
Danny Lee is somewhat of a long shot with 100/1 odds to win. Though he is making his British Open debut, he is having a great run as of late. He won the Greenbrier Classic two weeks ago and was third last week at the John Deere Classic. We think you should continue to ride this hot streak and look out for Lee to be a dark horse winner.
