Jon Rahm is the current favorite this weekend at +700, followed by Scottie Scheffler at +750 and Rory McIlroy at +850. Will Zalatons, meanwhile, is +1600 to win this weekend, while Max Homa, Colin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay and Viktor Hovland are all +2000, respectively. Tony Finau is also +2100 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

OPTION 1: Sungjae Im (+4100)
If you backed Im last week in The Honda Classic, chances are you just rolled your eyes at this selection. Carrying the weight of being the defending champ, Im finished T42 in one of the most disappointing performances of any player in the field. That said, let’s take a step back and look at the big picture. Im was the favorite last week, which is a label he won’t carry into this weekend’s tournament. Back in the underdog role, I expect a major rebound for Im. Better yet, his last four visits to Bay Hill resulted in finishes of 21st, 20th, 3rd and 3rd. Sign me up.
OPTION 2: Will Zalatoris (+1600)
I wouldn’t favor Zalatoris when the conditions are fairly straight forward – that’s not when he shines. Give him a course when the conditions are choppy? Zalatoris seems to raise his game. Consider the courses that draw the best comp to Bay Hill: The Country Club, Southern Hills, Torrey Pines, Augusta and Muirfield Village. Zalatoris had top-five finishes in all five. He’s where the value starts for me when capping this weekend’s field.
OPTION 3: Tyrrell Hatton (+3300)
Hatton has won here before and was outstanding at the Waste Management Phoenix OPen, gaining 9.5 strokes from the tee to green while finishing sixth. Granted, he sandwiched T45 (Zozo Championship) and T40 finishes (The Genesis Invitational) around T13 (The CJ Cup in South Carolina) and T6 (WM Phoenix Open) finishes, but I like his game on this type of course. He’s worth a flier.
