3M Open Betting Predictions
OPTION 1: Tony Finau
Finau, the defending champion, has missed back-to-back cuts on the PGA TOUR and will look to avoid missing three straight cuts on TOUR for the first time since 2019. He’s also looking to win his third title this season, which would be a new single-season best for his PGA TOUR career. He is the only golfer to finish in the top 30 each of the first four years in the event’s history and will look to be the first to win it in consecutive seasons.
OPTION 2: Justin Thomas
I know, I know – Thomas has struggled. He’s missed the cut in four of his last six starts on TOUR and five times total this season after missing a combined four in the previous two seasons. That said, he’s won a PGA TOUR event in seven straight seasons entering this season, which is tied with Jon Rahm, who extended his streak this season, for the longest active streak. Thomas is also a two-time major winner and while he has struggled with his approach shots this season, he consistently ranked in the top-10 in that area of the game prior to his issues. If he cleans that up, he could find himself atop the leaderboard on Sunday.
OPTION 3: Cameron Young
Young entered the week as the highest-ranked player in the field (15th in the OWGR), according to ESPN Stats & Info. The 2021-22 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year enters the week following a pair of top-10 finishes and with another this week, will tie the longest streak of his career.
