2022 BMW Championship Prediction
The PGA Tour heads to Wilmington Country Club this weekend for the BMW Championship. Despite missing the cut last week, Rory McIlroy is favored at 10/1.
Is he worth a look as the outright winner this weekend?

BMW Championship Betting Odds
While McIlroy is the current favorite at 10/1, Jon Rahm has comparable odds at 12/1, followed by Patrick Cantlay, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Tony Finau and Scottie Scheffler at 14/1, respectively. Will Zalatoris, meanwhile, is 16/1.
Continuing with the odds, Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa are both 20/1, respectively, while Cameron Young, Sam Burns and Sungjae Im are 22/1, respectively. Viktor Hovland is 27/1, while Joaquin Niemann is 31/1.
BMW Championship Outright Winner Betting Predictions
Option 1: Rory McIlroy (10/1)
Why take the betting favorite after he missed the cut last week? For starters, at 10/1, we’re still getting good value on McIlroy. Secondly, he has eight top-10 finishes in 14 events played this season. I don’t know what happened last week, but it says a lot that McIlroy was installed as the betting favorite this weekend after missing the cut all together last week. I expect a major bounce back for Rory this week in the BMW Championship.
Option 2: Patrick Cantlay (14/1)
Even though the venue changes this year, Cantlay won the BMW Championship last season while cruising to a 27-under-par at Caves Valley. The key is that the style of play required to win this year’s BMW Championship will be the same as last year, with distance being the key. Cantlay has finished in the top-15 in six of his last seven starts and currently sits 7th in the FedExCup race standings. Assuming he drives well, hits a ton of fairways and isn’t a disaster with the putter, he should be in the mix on Sunday to defend his BMW Championship title.
Option 3: Taylor Moore (120/1)
Since I listed the betting favorite as one of the options, I’ll also include a long shot. The rookie Moore was just 94th in the FedEx Cup race after he missed the cut at the Memorial Tournament in June. Since then, all he’s done is make seven straight cuts and finish in the top-10 twice to move into 64th place in the FedEx Cup race (up from No. 94 after missing the cut at the Memorial Tournament). While he’s a long shot to win this weekend, Moore is on a roll and is worth at least a look in some head-to-head matchup props.
