Can the Big 4 win The Open
There is a new established Big 4 in golf these days and all four are top contenders to win the British Open Championship.
The Big 4 right now consists of the top-4 golfers in the world rankings. Those four are Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, there is a prop available to bet on those four against the field in this year’s British Open. The Big 4 are listed with +150 odds, while The Field has a money line of -190 to win.
Bet on the British Open Championship
While golf features so many competitors, it certainly isn’t far-fetched to think these four can come out on top. One of those four have won six of the last 10 major championships. Of the group, Johnson is the hottest. He followed up his U.S. Open win with a victory in the Bridgestone Invitational a few weeks ago. He has finished in the top 5 in his last four events. Day is also pretty hot, as he sits No. 1 in the world rankings and has three wins in 2016.
The Field certainly has a lot more options and is a safe play. Zach Johnson is the defending champion, and while he is always a steady player, he was not among the favorites. McIlroy won a few years ago, but this tournament has featured three first-time major winners since 2009, including a longshot in Darren Clarke in 2011.
