Jordan Spieth British Open Odds
FIFE, Scotland (TheSpread) – Jordan Spieth has won the first two major championships of 2015. How will he perform at this week’s British Open?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Spieth is currently listed at 9/2 to win The Open Championship this weekend. He has been given odds of 11/10 to finish in the top 5 and 1/2 to finish in the top 10. His odds to finish in the top 20 is set at -400 while his odds to make the cut are set at -1000. His current odds to win the grand slam of golf is set at +1600.
Spieth is currently second in the world rankings, but he can take over the top spot if he is to win this weekend. He has had a tremendous 2015 season thus far, as he has four wins to his credit along with three runner-up finishes and four other top-10 performances. He is coming off a win in the John Deere Classic last week and has won his last two events, including the U.S. Open.
Spieth doesn’t have much when it comes to major championship history. He has appeared in just 10 majors in his short career and this is just the third time he has competed in The Open Championship. In 2013, Spieth finished tied for 44th, while in 2014 he was tied for 36th. He is coming off wins in the Masters and U.S. Open, but the British Open plays a different style of golf that can be challenging.
