Johnson maintains Open lead
FIFE, Scotland (TheSpread) – There wasn’t much action on Saturday at the British Open, as winds forced most of the play back one day. The second round was all that was completed.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson remains the favorite to win the major, as he has 15/8 odds. Other short odds to win are Adam Scott (15/2), Jordan Spieth (10/1) and Louis Oosthuizen (10/1). The third round of play will now take place on Sunday while the final round has been pushed back to Monday at St. Andrews.
Johnson finished his second round on Saturday and was at -10 when the day was over, giving him a 69 for his second round. He has a one shot lead on Danny Willett, who didn’t play at all on Saturday.
Scott also had Saturday off as he finished his second round on Friday. Scott sits at -7 for the tournament, three shots behind Johnson and is in a tie for fourth.
Oosthuizen is also at -7 for the tournament. He had some nice shots on Saturday and finished with a second-round 70 to get to -7.
Spieth sits at -5 for the tournament after posting an even-par 72 on Saturday. He is five shots behind Johnson as he looks to win the first three major championships of 2015.
