Updated U.S. Open Odds
UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA (TheSpread) – The first round of the U.S. Open Championship is complete and the top of the leaderboard features some of the top names in golf.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson are now the co-favorites to win this major, as each has 5/1 odds. Henrik Stenson currently has 6/1 odds. The U.S. Open continues today and runs through Sunday from Chambers Bay in Washington.
Johnson posted a 5-under 65 on Thursday to share the lead with Stenson. His driver was working very well for him on a dry course. Johnson is looking to win his first major championship.
Spieth shot a 2-under 68 on Thursday. He battled some ups and downs through his round, as he played in the afternoon when conditions were more difficult. Spieth is three shots out of the lead and seeking his second major overall and of the year.
Stenson is even with Johnson atop the leaderboard after shooting a 65 on Thursday. Stenson had an early tee time, like Johnson, and took advantage of better conditions. Stenson is seeking his first major championship.
