D. Johnson British Open Odds
FIFE, Scotland (TheSpread) – Following a tough runner-up finish at the U.S. Open last month, will Dustin Johnson bounce back and win the British Open this weekend at St. Andrews?
According to oddsmakers from GTBets, Johnson is currently listed with 11/1 odds to win The Open Championship. He is getting 5/2 odds to finish in the top 5, 1/1 odds to finish in the top 10 and odds of -200 to finish in the top 20. His odds to make the cut have been set at -800.
Johnson is currently fourth in the world rankings and he is having a very nice 2015 season thus far after going winless in 2014. Johnson has one win this year, the WGC-Cadillac Championship, and a pair of runner-up finishes, including the U.S. Open. It was at the U.S. Open that Johnson had an eagle putt on the final hole to beat Jordan Spieth by one. Instead, Johnson ended up with a three-putt after missing a short birdie putt that would have forced an 18-hole playoff.
Johnson is still seeking his first major championship, but he has had plenty of close calls. Of the 25 he has appeared in in his career, Johnson has finished in the top 10 in nine of them, including three of his last four. Johnson finished second at the 2011 British Open and then placed ninth in 2012. He was 32nd in 2013, but 12th in 2014. Johnson has only missed the cut once at the British Open in six appearances and he has missed only four cuts in his 25 majors.
