U.S. Open Championship Odds
UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA (TheSpread) – The second major championship of 2015 takes place this week as the best golfers in the world compete in the U.S. Open Championship.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Rory McIlroy is the favorite to win this tournament, as he has 7/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Jordan Spieth (8/1) and Dustin Johnson (16/1). The U.S. Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Chambers Bay in Washington.
McIlroy is the top-ranked golfer in the world. He is a four-time major championship winner and he was the 2011 U.S. Open winner. He has finished in the top 10 in five of the last six majors, including two victories.
Spieth is second in the world rankings. Spieth is coming off a win in the Masters a few months back. It was his first major championship. He has competed in the U.S. Open three times, missing the cut once while placing in the top 25 the other two times.
Johnson currently sits seventh in the world rankings. He is seeking his first major championship. He finished fourth in the U.S. Open last year and has finished 12th or better in three of the last four majors.
