WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Picks
The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational should be a highly competitive golf tournament. Here are some golfers we think can contend for the win.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jason Day is favored to win this tournament, as he is getting 11/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (8/1), Jordan Spieth (10/1) and Brooks Koepka (18/1). The Bridgestone Invitational takes place Thursday-Sunday from Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
Bet on the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational
Jason Day is hard to avoid when he’s on the competition list. He already has three wins to his credit in 2016 and this week could be No. 4. He has performed well in this tournament before, finishing fourth in 2011 and 12th a year ago. His game is even stronger now.
Adam Scott has 22/1 odds for the weekend. He is the 2011 champion of this tournament and he has finished in the top 10 three others times, including an eighth-place finish in 2014. He already won a WGC event this year as well, the Cadillac Championship. Scott has yet to miss a cut this year, so you know he will be around for the weekend. Now he just needs to make some puts and the title can be his.
Shane Lowry is the defending champion of this tournament and he comes in with 35/1 odds to win this week. While he had a Sunday to forget at the U.S. Open, it is an experience he can learn from and should motivate him to do well in this major-type field. Look for him to make a strong run to defend his title this weekend.
